Spirits in Willoughby is now guided by Kirk, a name many in Willoughby already know well. His journey started in the heart of Downtown Willoughby with the Chagrin River Diner, where he learned the rhythm of early-morning regulars and built the kind of community that only comes from showing up day after day.
From there, he took the reins at The Pub at the end of Lost Nation Road, then brought his energy to Castaways River Tiki Bar, where summers on the water became legendary. But as much as he loved the river, Kirk felt the pull back to the charm of DTW — closer to the people who've supported him from the start.
Now, he's bringing that experience, that loyalty, and that neighborhood spirit right here to Spirits in Willoughby — committed to great food, great service, and an elevated experience with the same familiar warmth.

History of the Building
This historic building at 3872 Erie Street began its life over 100 years ago as Willis Supply, later known as Willoughby Coal & Supply. The massive brick structure, with its soaring ceilings and industrial architecture, served the growing community for decades, providing essential supplies to local businesses and residents.
As the town evolved, the building transitioned through different uses, always maintaining its industrial character. The brick walls still bear the marks of its working past, and the original architectural details tell the story of Willoughby's industrial heritage.
Today, we've reimagined this historic space as Spirits in Willoughby — a welcoming bar where the community gathers. We honor the building's past while creating a vibrant future, serving craft beers, full cocktail bar, and great food in a space that feels both historic and modern. Every brick tells a story, and we're proud to be part of the next chapter.

Community First
Spirits in Willoughby is more than a bar — it's a community hub. We're the place where after-work crews unwind, where weekend groups gather for bocce and beers, where families bring their dogs to the patio, and where neighbors become regulars.
Our outdoor space is designed for connection. Two bocce courts where we take our games almost as seriously as our craft beers. A gas fire-pit gazebo that's perfect for evening hangs. Picnic tables and umbrella seating that make the patio feel like your backyard — just with better drinks.
Whether you're here for live music on the weekends, a casual weeknight dinner, or a weekend brunch with friends, we're here to make you feel at home. Join us, bring your crew, and let's raise a glass together.
What We're About
Craft Beverages
We serve 18 beers on tap, rotating local favorites and craft selections. Our full cocktail bar has something for everyone, from classic cocktails to creative craft drinks.
The massive industrial beams, exposed brick, and original architectural details have been carefully preserved, creating a space that's both historic and welcoming.
Outdoor Social Space
Our patio is the heart of Spirits. Two bocce courts for friendly competition. A gas fire-pit gazebo for evening hangs. Dog-friendly seating. Umbrella tables and picnic tables. It's the kind of space that makes you want to stay past sunset.
We've created a space that honors the building's industrial past while building a vibrant future for community gathering. Free parking, great food, and even better company.
